Concept Design
The Concept Design is the first suggested version of the total design; it contains all hardscape and softscape based on your requests & vision, in combination with our own insights & expertise.
We always strive to incorporate as many items from the client’s wish list as possible, such as an extended patio, lounge or dining space, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, fire pit area, tanning area, pool, shed, veggie garden, lawn, kids play area, gazebo, pergola, pickleball court, golf area, etc.
In addition to the client’s preferences for outdoor features, their personal style is also implemented into the design. We offer a range of design styles to choose from, including:
- Modern style with its clean lines, & materials
- Traditional style with local stone choices and more common ways of planting
- Natural style with curvy lines and a variation of native plants
- English/Cottage Garden style for more texture, plant variety and color
- Xeriscape/Zeroscape style (no grass) with various types of gravel/rock and very drought-tolerant plants for minimal maintenance.
This Design usually is quite a transformation of the current situation and the most exciting moment in the process!
It will be emailed to in 2D plan view and multiple 3D images as JPG files to review, with notes on the design choices.
Revision round*
After receiving the Concept Plan, there will be 1 revision round included, in which any revisions to the initial plan can be communicated, before we make it final.
Lay Out Design
The Lay Out Design is the ultimate Landscape Design that is presented to the client. During the Concept meeting, the client can provide requests for minor adjustments to the initial plan. If the client decides to purchase the Planting Design and Specified Design, we will also discuss their plant and material preferences during this meeting. These additional requests will then be integrated into the final plan, which is known as the Lay Out Design.
However, if the client chooses not to purchase the Planting Design and Specified Design, we will use random plants and materials in the final Lay Out Design.
Planting Design
Clients often prefer to have a customized Planting Design that caters to their style and plant preferences. Finding the right plants for specific spots with appropriate heights, widths, colors, water and sun requirements, and neighbor plants can be challenging. Living in the Austin/Round Rock Texas climate, it’s crucial to choose vegetation suitable for the right hardiness zone, which can tolerate summer heat and cold winter temperatures. Selecting plants that cannot survive these extreme temperatures can lead to disappointment.
A Planting Design can be an ideal solution as it plans out everything for the clients. After receiving this plan, clients can show it to their nursery or landscaper without having to spend hours walking around nurseries, searching for plant specifications on the internet, or figuring out combinations and groups. Serene Landscape Design takes care of all these tasks for its clients.
Specified Design
A Specified Design is a detailed plan that outlines the measurements and materials for the hardscape areas only. It’s designed to be used by your contractor or yourself during the construction of different areas such as plant beds, patios, arbors, and curves. This plan eliminates the guesswork involved in determining measurements, as everything is precisely written out with descriptions and supported by photos.
At Serene Landscape Design, we provide assistance to your local contractor with this plan, ensuring that everything is accurately measured and constructed according to the plan.
3D Walk-Through Video
Additionally, Serene Landscape Design offers a 3D video service that provides clients with a complete visual and experience of their new outdoor space. This video is not only a fun bonus feature but also serves as a valuable tool in communicating the design to contractors and landscapers. By providing a complete visual alongside the paper plans, it helps ensure that everyone is on the same page.
The 3D video is also a great way to showcase your new space to friends, family, and neighbors in the Austin/Round Rock area or beyond who may be considering improving their own outdoor space. By sharing the design process and the final product, it can demonstrate the value of investing in professional landscape design services.
It’s important to note that the 3D video is a free bonus offered to clients who have purchased all previous designs in the process.
